Bangalore | ex-CM Siddaramiayyah Slammed BJP leadership for protecting the rabid mouth MLA of Bijapur Mr Basangouda Patil Yatnal who abused Freedom Fighters including Mahatma Gandhi. the Congress Leadership issued following statement against the guttermouth MLA who is known for making outrageous and chindi comments.
Yatnal’s derogatory statement against freedom fighter Shri. Doreswamy is against the ethos of the Constitution & amounts to contempt of the house. Yatnal has lowered the dignity of a representative.
After being elected, the member signs a declaration form & also takes oath before the speaker as per Art 188. Here the member promises to be loyal to the Constitution & also that he will uphold it.
But Yatnal has betrayed by violating Fundamental duties under Art 51-A(b). Fundamental duties under Art 51-A(b) mandates every citizen to cherish and follow the noble ideals which inspired our national struggle for freedom.
By his derogatory & inflammatory statements against a freedom fighter, Yatnal has failed to fulfill his duty as a citizen.
‘PARLIAMENTARY DECORUM
AND ETIQUETTE’ rules mandates every member to maintain highest tradition of
parliamentary system & to observe certain standardof conduct both inside & outside the House.
But Yatnal has violated all the rules & lowered the dignity of the house.
As Yatnal’s behaviour was violative of the Constitution, we demanded speaker to invoke his residuary power under Rule No 363 of the house to give us an opportunity to discus on the floor. He denied us and asked us to first give the notice for which it was submitted today. Speaker agreed to give us opportunity to discuss on the floor of the house. But after his discussion with BJP Karnataka leaders, speaker denied us asking us to proceed according to Rule no 328 which mandates us to issue notice to the member if our allegation is defamatory.
The fact is that our allegation is not defamatory as Yatnal himself admitted his statement & reiterated again. Speaker has acted on the behest of ruling party and denied the rights of the opposition.
Yatnal has a pessimistic attitude towards the freedom fighters. He has even spoken against the valuable contribution of Mahatma Gandhiji. He has called Gandhiji as Pakistan agent and insulted our Nation’s pride.
Is Yatnal a national pride for @BJP4India? Or Is it Gandhiji?
Speaker has now changed his stance & broken his promise to the opposition. He has become a toy of B S Yediyurappa. Speaker has the authority to take action against the member whose conduct is inappropriate. Even several judgements have upheld this.
We shall fight for the justice.
