Gulbarga: In a press release issued Thursday by the Deputy Commissioner of Gulbarga, B Sarath, mentioned that a total of 148 suspects’ specimens were sent for testing for COVID-19 or Coronavirus, out of which five (including the deceased) turned out positive. While reports of 38 cases are yet to come, in two cases tests couldn’t be proceeded due to technical issues.
The district administration has identified 99 people in direct contacts with the Coronavirus positives and 388 in secondary. In Gulbarga district, 97 people have been further added to the home quarantine list which already had 868. Home quarantined have been asked to submit a self-health report on a regular basis. A total of 37 people are being currently treated in the isolation wards, the press release said.
9445 Homes Screened
Screening of 9445 households was conducted around Corona positive cases’ homes. Wards 30 and 14 have been identified as ‘Containment Zones’ in the district, where screening, sanitization and awareness programs were held, the press release added.
14 Day Home Stay For Foreign Returnees
Those who have recently returned to the district from COVID-19 affected countries and have no symptoms, have been asked for a mandatory 14-day home quarantine. They have been asked to provide their daily health condition updates to the district administration and advised to visit the nearest government hospital or call helpline number 104 to get help, if required.
