After confirmation of a positive Coronavirus case in Hyderabad, the Karnataka Health and Family Welfare department has put Bidar along with other three bordering districts Kalaburagi, Yadgir and Raichur on high alert.
A 24-year-old techie who tested positive for Coronavirus has travelled from Dubai to Bengaluru and then to Hyderabad in a private bus day before, putting all the co-passengers, colleaques at Bengaluru, family doctor, and health workers he came in contact with at risk. About 80 people who came in contact with the patient have been quarantined at their home for 15 day. The patient is undergoing treatment in Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. The Telangana Health Minister exuded confidence that the State is fully prepared to deal the Coronavirus patients.
The Karnataka Health Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey told media , “As one positive case of Coronavirus has been reported in Telangana, the border districts of Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir and Raichur are put on high alert and any suspect is advised to report immediately to State Surveillance Unit (SSU) Karnataka.”
