Will AIMIM make it BIG in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly assembly elections?

Asaduddin Owaisi

All the political parties and their alliances are set to give a tough fight to the ruling BJP party in the upcoming UP assembly polls due in 2022. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimee in the recent interview has made their intention very clear that their party is open to any alliance which has a similar motive of defeating BJP in the state. AIMIM’s chief Asaduddin Owaisi in an exclusive interview to Times of India said, “Their fight is direct with BJP over its failure in handling various issues in the state”.

Recently, Akhilesh Yadav, national president of the Samajwadi Party has given remarks on how his party is open to welcome all the small/local parties to join hands with them. “Any local parties who aim to defeat BJP in the upcoming UP elections are free and most welcome to join hands with us. There is absolutely no fear as such and I will repeat the same thing again, come join hands with us if any party wants to see BJP lose”, Yadav added.

In an exclusive interview to TOI, the AIMIM chief reiterated the fact that Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha’s convenor has assured: We are open to an alliance to defeat BJP. The best person to talk about alliances is Om Prakash Rajbhar. Talking about the 2017 UP polls and how AIMIM got only a 0.2% vote share. What has changed now and makes me confident? “We have a stronger organizational presence in UP now. Besides, we have a 100% booth presence in about 80 assembly seats. Also, if you an account of previous elections, we have won municipal corporation and Zila Parishad seats as well”

He further went ahead clearing how his statements are being misused. The AIMIM party will fight against UP CM and his government against the misrule in the state. The party will project how BJP majorly failed in handling COVID-19, unemployment, and other issues in the state under the guidance of Yogi Adityanath.

This time’s election issue will include the widows, the orphans who lost their parents to COVID because of the blatant mismanagement of the pandemic, the youths who lost jobs. Yogi will have to face the brunt of the mess he has created.

If the AIMIM will become an ally of the Samajwadi party to put up a strong fight against the BJP is a matter of time. Or, is it just a matter of politics and will fade away as we approach the elections.
