“There is a Possiblity of Flood” Gulbarga DC Message to people residing near the banks of Bhima River

Gulbarga DC V V Jyothsana asks people residing people residing near the Bank of Bhima River to be cautious as there is possibility of flood due to heavy discharge of water to Bhima River. District level officers of Gulbarga District have been asked by Gulbarga Deputy Commissioner to do the round the clock service by staying in Mini Vidhana Soudha in the night time to tackle flood situation Bhima River.

Gulbarga district has been hit by heavy rainfall for four days. The district has suffered a lot of rainfall. The Bhima River, meanwhile, is also inundated by the flow of water from the reservoirs of Maharashtra. The District Administration is now in the process of relocating 148 villages of the Bhima river. There has been a Damage to 4819 homes and 48 care centers have been set up to take care of the homeless.
There is a possibility of releasing about 7.50 lakh cusecs of water from the reservoirs to the Bhima. In Jewargi, Chittapur, Afzalpura and Sedam taluks, there is a great deal of water activity.
District Collector VV Jyotsna has appealed to the people of Bhima River and backwaters to get to the safe area. Damage in the district: As of Wednesday, an estimated 4819 households in the district were flooded and clothes and utensils were damaged. 1058 houses were severely ruined. In addition, 518 livestocks have been reported dead. The meteorological department has forecast heavy rainfall in Gulbarga District till October 16. A red alert has been announced in the district and the district administration has been warned.
