Bengaluru: The Karnataka Chief Minister B.S Yeddyurappa has come down heavily against media houses and public maligning Muslim community for the spread of Coronavirus or Covid-19. He said he had held a meeting of the Muslim scholars and community leaders and spoken to them, he said, “I have learned from them that they themselves have stopped gathering at mosques and taking all the precautionary measures to stop spread of Coronavirus.” Mr Yeddyurappa exhorted, “speak not a word against minority Muslims” they are cooperating and praying at their houses. He further added that for a minor incident that involved some Muslims, the entire Muslim community cannot be blamed.
He warned the netzines of action if they speak against the Muslim community at a time when the world is facing a serious pandemic. He was speaking today to a Kannada news channel.
