Talha Hussain Gulbargavi| Hyderabad : Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao cleared the transfers of 30 police officers on late Friday night. Anjani Kumar, the CP of Hyderabad, has been promoted to Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, while CV Anand, a 1991 Batch IPS officer, who returned to Telangana after serving in the Central government, has been named the new Commissioner of Hyderabad Police.
It will be an uphill task for the New Commissioner to fill in the shoes of Mr. Anjani Kumar who had worked hard to restore the faith of people in the police department through his new and technological oriented style of working. Here is a Brief profile of Mr.CV Anand IPS.
He belongs to the 1991 batch of the IPS of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh/Now Telangana Cadre. he spent the first 9 years of his career tackling naxalites/maoists as ASP in Warangal, Addl SP in Adilabad and as SP Nizamabad which were the hotbed in those times. He was awarded the President’s Police medal for Gallantry.
He introduced IT based urban policing systems like CCTVs, E-Challan, Centralised signal management systems, Cordon & search operations, IT based enforcement, use of latest Gadgets & Technologies and social media for citizen outreach, crime prevention and detection and SHE Teams,SHE shuttles,SHE Cabs, SHE Apps for Women Safety.

2) Rajasthan State Innovation Leadership Award;
3) Commended at the National E-Governance Awards Function for the PDS reforms which are now being adopted in 12 states
4) President’s Gallantry Medal in 2002
5) Indian Police Medal in 2007
6) President’s Police Medal in 2017
7) Prestigious National Award for Best Performance in the country in the 2014 General Elections by the Election Commission of India.
Mr.Anand has another facet-that of a sportsman-to him.He is an ex- Under 19 cricketer and toured England in 1986 and represented Hyderabad under 19 & 22 levels. He is still active in the game. He is a nationally ranked tennis player in +45 category and has won the All India Police Tennis championships and regularly plays senior tennis tournaments. He was the ‘Best Athlete’ in College, and in National Police Academy with 8 Gold Medals in various sprint and jump events.
