Gulbarga: Noted Writer and literary critic Dr Faheem Peerzada (Retd Associate Professor) hit out at the inaction and anti-urdu attitude of the state government. Accusing it of anti-urdu bias he said It has been 1 and half year since the Karnataka state Urdu academy has been constituted. This shows the lack of interest of Yeddiurappa Government against the Urdu, and has created lot of unrest among the Urdu speaking populace of Karnataka. If this is not resolved immediately then we will have no choice but to take to streets and protest against the Government.
Sajid Ranjolvi, President of the Hyderabad Karnataka Social Jagruti forum said at this occasion that they have petitioned every concerned person, including the Chief Minister of state who had come to Gulbarga on 17th September but the matter has been put under cold box. The suspension of the Academy has resulted in collapse of its day to day working and this has left the literary and academic works undertaken by the committee in a limbo creating lot of problems for the Writers, Poets and other Urdu artists. Therefore it is impertinent that government takes this seriously and appoint a new committee and chairperson as soon as possible.
Award winning Urdu Writer and Poet Waheed Anjum, Congress Youth Leader Shakeel Saradgi and other were present.
