AR Rahman and Khatija Rahman’s COVID-19 Song Sets Internet on Fire

Chennai: India’s sole Oscar and Grammy winning legendry music genius, A.R Rahman has once again set the internet on fire, this time along with his daughter Khatija Rahman, with their soul touching rendition of Covid-19 motivational song.

The song talks about the struggle to win over the pandemic and difficulties faced by the people, it tries to fill energy among the people faced with the pandemic. The song has been penned by Prason Joshi and conceptualised by the HDFC Bank. The theme of the song is Hum Haar Nahi Manenge (we won’t give up).

The song features vocals by A.R.Rahman, Khatija Rahman, Javed Ali, Clinton Cerejo, Mika Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Jonita Gandhi, Shruti Haasan, and more. Legendary sitarist Asad Khan, percussionist Sivamani, and bass prodigy Mohini Dey have also contributed to the song.

All parts of the song were rendered by all the artiste who are part of the project at their homes. The song has been widely shared over the internet since it was launched on April 30.

Minutes before the end, the video highlights Covid-19 updates, which intrestingly reads:

Coronavirus (Covid-19) update, Recovered patients to donate plasma for development of blood-related therapies,

an obvious reference to the Tablighi Jamaat members who recovered from the sickness and came forward in large numbers to donate their blood.
