10 FACTS ABOUT BIDAR AIRPORT THAT IS BEING INAUGURATED TODAY

The Trujet Airways will officially operate a flight from Bidar to Bengaluru and vice-versa. The company has registered a whopping Rs 84 crore loss in FY 18 with a revenue of Rs 165 crore. Following are the 10 points about the new Airport that may interest you. Tickets can be booked from the Bengaluru Internation Airport website www.bengaluruairport.com/ or on www.trujet.com. The flight number from Bidar is 2T 626 and from Bengaluru, it is 2T 625.

• The Civil Enclave of Bidar Airport will be managed by the GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited.

• The flights will be run by Trubo Megha Airways Pvt.Ltd, Hyderabad under the name Trujet.

• The flight will be run on a daily basis to and from Bengaluru-Bidar.

• The flight will have a seating capacity of 70-72 seats.

• Fifty percent of seats will be sold on subsidized rates under the UDAAN scheme and rest 50% under open market prices.

• Trujet will operate the ATR 72-500 aircraft which is a twin-engine turboprop, short-distance aircraft made of regional connectivity.

• The ATR aircraft are manufactured in France and the cost of ATR 72 aircraft is about Rs 200 Cr.

• Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC) is expected to construct a bigger airport for which it has released Rs 4.23 Cr last December.

• 21.6 acres of land is required to operate bigger aircrafts, which might be acquired in Bidar by the KSIIDC.

•The flight is scheduled at 11:25 from Bengaluru and expected to reach Bidar at 13:05 and at 13.35 from Bidar and expected to reach Bengaluru at 15.15. The duration of flight is mentioned as 1 hour 40 minutes.

OTHER BOOKING RELATED DETAILS

The fare for one-way travel is priced at Rs 999 as base fare under Tru Saver category, with taxes the fare is Rs 1299. Passengers can upgrade their tickets to Tru Classic or Tru Max categories by paying additional Rs 400 or Rs 1000 respectively. Under basic Tru Saver category, passengers are not allowed to select seats of their choice; whereas in other two categories passengers can select premium extra-large seats of their choice. Under Tru Classic and Tru Max categories, passengers will also get free premium meals. In Tru Max category, passengers are allowed for free reschedule or cancellation.

Passengers are allowed to a maximum of 15 kg of luggage, for an increase of every 5 kg, a passenger has to shell out more than Rs 1300 A maximum of 35 kg of luggage is allowed at an additional Rs.5000.
