10-day Night Curfew & Restrictions imposed on New Year parties in Karnataka, Read Full List of New Guidelines

Saba Khan | Bengaluru: Amid rising number of Omicron variant of Covid-19 and New year just around the corner several States and UT’s have announced night curfew and restrictions on large gatherings to tackle situation.

States that imposed night curfew are Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Puducherry, Karnataka, and few cities of Gujarat. Chief Minister of Karnataka Basvaraj Bommai chaired a meeting on 26 Dec with Health department and Technical Advisory committee and decided to impose curfew from 10a.m to 5a.m and “no new year celebrations will be allowed in public places” said Health and Family Welfare Minister K. Sudhakar, “Hotel will be allowed to have only 50% occupancy. Restaurant, hotels, club and pub will also have to function with 50% capacity from Dec 30 to Jan 2” he added up.

The government of Karnataka announced night curfew for 10 days starting from 28 Dec Tuesday. Night curfew will be in force from Dec 28 to January 7 10p.m to 5a.m.

All gatherings, meetings, conferences and marriages shall have a maximum of 300 people with strict Covid-19 behaviour.

Meanwhile Karnataka reported total 38 Omicron cases Of which 15 have recovered, making it upto 422 reported cases of Omicron variant in India. With max number of cases, 108 from Maharashtra. Delhi registered 79 cases, Gujarat with 43,Telangana with 41 and Kerala with 38 cases.
