Gulbarga: In a move to avoid unnecessary controversy and stop cow vigilantes in their tracks during the upcoming Bakrid, some Muslim organisations All India Imams Counicl, Popular Front of India & SDPI have approached Superintendent of Police and Deputy Commissioner to put in place a system to stop Cow Vigilantism in the name of Gau Rakshak.
In a joint petition signed by office-bearers of Popular Front of India, Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) & All India Imams Council, they requested the government “H-K region is a very peaceful region since many decades, this is all due to the overall efforts from all the section of the society and also the administration, especially the police department. As we are aware that, many anti social elements in the name of “Gau Rakshak” are been active across the nation to unleash their evil and concocted desires. These instances causes “disturbance of law and order by miscreants in the name of protection of cows.”
They request to administration, especially the police department to be more active and monitor these anti social groups and take strict action against them if they indulge in violent activities in this region. Moreover, there is a Central home ministry direction regarding the same.
The central home department advisory has been shot off to all state secretaries who say “does not entitle any individual or group of persons to take action on their own to prevent the alleged slaughter or punish the alleged wrongdoers.” The advisory says under Section 39 of the CrPC, “Any person aware of the commission of certain offences or intention thereof is required to give information to the nearest magistrate or police officer.”
