Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will lay foundation stone for 26 development works taken up at a cost of ~ 110 crore during his visit to Aland on August 13, said Aland MLA B R Patil.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Patil said, on August 13, the CM would arrive at Bidar from Bengaluru in a special flight. From Bidar, he will arrive at Aland in a helicopter and take part in the public meeting organised at Government PU College at around 11:00 am, he added.
Ministers Kagodu Thimmappa, Krishnaiah, Sharanprakash Patil, Priyank Kharge, Gulbarga MP Mallikarjun Kharge and others will participate in the programme.
The dignitaries including chief minister will inaugurate skill development centre, a statue of Jayaprakash Narayan on the premises of Samatha Education Institution among others.
The groundwater table in Aland taluk has depleted severely. To improve the groundwater level, a plan has been prepared and check dams will be constructed on Shirpur model in Aland, he added. Of the Rs 60 crore allocated for the taluk for the purpose, the finance department has given approval for sanctioning of ~ 20 crore, he added.
Speaking about the IT raids on properties belonging to Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, Patil said it was politically motivated. He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi who claims that corruption-free governance is their goal, is silent about election reforms. Modi is also not showing any interest towards the implementation of The Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act.
Aland APMC president Sharanabasappa Bhusnoor, Sharanabasappa Patil and Ganesh Patil were present on the occasion.
