Reddy Jana Sangha College in Koramangala has come under scanner after a second year B.Com student made serious allegation of ragging by seniors. The student, Tanvi (name changed), who hails from Raichur district, has filed a police complaint on Tuesday.
She has decided to quit her course, fearing seniors, said police. According to her complaint, she was allegedly ragged on January 18 by a senior and two ex-students of her college. They snatched away Rs 10,000, a SIM card, her laptop and gold chain and slapped her.
“Soon after learning the incidence the principal initiated action. Everything apart from her SIM card and money has been returned. The complainant has now sought police assistance to recover the money and SIM,” a senior police official of Koramangala police station said.
She alleged that one of the seniors intimidated her by threatening to marry. However, police did not confirm this. The victim has also complained about the inadequate measure taken by the college management after the issue was reported. “The case is being probed from all angles. Though the girl has complained that the college management let her down, we are told that the college brass had duly acted. However, all these facts are being probed,” the police official told.
