Hosapete: With model code of conduct coming into force with immediate effect after the announcement of the poll schedule, the banners and flexes pertaining to various political parties that had come up at different places in Hosapete were removed on Tuesday.
Chief Election Commissioner announced the time table for the Assembly elections at 11:00 am in New Delhi. The election officers became active as soon as the announcement was made, and directed the low level officials to remove the banners and flexes immediately. The banners and flexes were removed from Rotary Circle, Valmiki Circle, Sai Baba Circle, bus stand, Sandur Road, Ballari Circle, T B Dam Road, and huge flex boards containing the information on the schemes and projects announced by the State government too were removed near taluk office and taluk panchayat office. All these roads, which were decorated all these days with these banners, wore a vacant look on Tuesday.
Similarly, a huge cutout pertaining to the ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme, containing the portrait of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, which had been placed in front of the Tahsildar office in Hagaribommanahalli, too was removed, along with host of other banners and flexes on various schemes and projects of the government which had come up in front of government offices.
Town Municipal Council Chief Officer Prakash Channappanavar, and Revenue Officer Marenna supervised the operation.
