Priyank Kharge challenges BJP leaders for open discussion

Yadgir: BJP leaders should come for an open discussion on the achievements of Central and State governments rather than just criticising the Congress government in the State, said Tourism Minister Priyank Kharge.

He was speaking to reporters after inaugurating a fruit and flower show here recently. The BJP led government at the Centre had spent three and half years while Congress has been ruling the State. Open discussion should be held on the development of the State and the response from the Centre for developing the State. Discussions on Central leadership, State leadership, both the parties and developmental issues should be held. The people would decide the real achievers, he said.

The BJP leaders had been comparing the State with Uttar Pradesh. They had been pulling crowd after inviting UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath to Karnataka. The State and Uttar Pradesh have a huge difference in economy and education status. The legal situation in UP is different and the status of Karnataka is different. The BJP leaders have been lacking such a minimum knowledge, he said.

BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa had been speaking about staging protest when AICC President Rahul Gandhi visits the State. But what would be the issue for them to protest. The State government has already waived off the crop loan. Chief minister had appealed with the prime minister to given an appointment for discussing the Mahadayi issue. The Congress government is also free from any corruption charges, he claimed. In such a situation what would be the issue for Yeddyurappa to stage the protest, he added.
