The Central Secretariat of Popular Front of India, in a statement issued here today, expressed deep sorrow in the unexpected death of Maulana Abdul Rasheed Rashadi today afternoon, he was an early senior member and state president of the organisation in Andhra Pradesh. Unfortunately, the cancerous liver infection which caused his death could be detected only very late.
Maulana Abdul Rasheed Rashadi was in the forefront of the organisation from its very beginning in the undivided Andhra Pradesh before one decade. He was instrumental in expanding the activities in different parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana by undertaking extensive travels and mobilising masses with his deep knowledge and excellent communication skills. An Islamic scholar by training, he also possessed good understanding of socio-political situation prevailing in the country. This part of his personality has brought him to the fold of a social movement, instead of confining to traditional role of a Masjid Imam.
The Central Secretariat put on record the services rendered by him and observed that the vacuum created by his demise could not be recovered soon. Maulana Abdul Rasheed Rashadi belongs to Atmakur town in Karnool district of Andhra Pradesh. He is survived by his wife and four children who are students. The Central Secretariat sought the mercy of Allah, the Almighty in his life hereafter and appealed all members and associates of the movement to pray for him.
