KPCC Spokessperson SM Patil Ganihar seeks ban on Sri Ram Sene

Describing Sri Ram Sene, a Hindutva outfit, as extremely dangerous to society, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson S.M. Patil Ganihar has demanded that the government not only immediately arrest its founder Pramod Mutalik but also ban the organisation.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, he said that following the arrest of an active member of the sene, Parashuram Waghmore, in connection with the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh, it is now clearly evident that the sene is behind such anti-social elements.

Mr. Ganihar accused the sene and Mr. Mutalik of misleading innocent Hindu youths and brainwashing them into becoming hardcore criminals in the name of protecting Hindu religion. “Poor Hindu youths from backward communities are falling prey to his hate speeches and taking the law into their hands. The police must initiate action now and ban this organisation and arrest Mr. Mutalik,” he said.

Claiming that the same organisation was also involved in a case of hoisting a Pakistan flag in Sindgi town in 2012, Mr. Ganihar said that the sole objective of the outfit is to create communal tension in society.
