IAS coaching centre to come up in Gulbarga in a month: Dist In charge Minister

Full fledged branch of Kidwai cancer hospital to be started soon

Gulbarga: Medical Education Minister Sharanprakash Patil, who is also the district in charge minister, has said that steps were being initiated for the establishment of a well equipped IAS Coaching Centre in Gulbarga. The Centre will come up in about a month’s time.

Speaking at the ‘Jana Mana’ programme to get feedback and suggestions from the beneficiaries of different welfare schemes and programmes of the state government here on Friday, Dr Patil said that the coaching centre has been planned to provide competitive skills to candidates appearing for the all India level competitive examinations.

The minister disclosed that a full fledged branch of the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology will be started in Kalaburagi in a couple of months to provide all the treatment facilities for cancer patients of Kalaburagi and surrounding areas. Apart from this, the government was also planning to start a Trauma Centre, a Multi-Speciality Hospital and Women and Children Hospital in Kalaburagi.

Responding to the demand of a beneficiary of Vidyasiri scheme, the minister said e-books will be provided to students by the Hyderabad Karnataka Region Development Board (HKRDB).

The demand for increasing the monthly allowance of ~ 1,500 to ~ 3,000 to the Vidyasiri beneficiaries will be brought to the notice of the minister concerned. Steps will be taken for giving a monthly pension of ~ 500 and other facilities to sexual minorities. Enquiry will be held in to the alleged irregularities in the Krishi Bhagya scheme.

With regard to distribution of tur dall and increasing the quantity of food grains being given to card holders, the minister promised to bring the demand to the notice of the minister concerned. The proposal for providing milk to children under the Ksheera Bhagya scheme for six days instead of the present days in a week was under the consideration of the government.

Organised jointly by the Department of Information and Public Relations and District Administration, the programme was presided over by Kalaburagi Dakshin MLA Dattatreya Patil Revoor. ZP President Suvarna Malaji, vice president Shobha Sirasagi, Parliamentary Secretary Dr Umesh Jadhav, SP N Shashikumar, GMP Commissioner Sunilkumar were present. Deputy Commissioner Ujwalkumar Ghosh made introductory speech. The minister released the booklet on the achievements of the State government in the last three years. Information Officer G Chandrakant welcomed the gathering.
