Yadgir, dhns: Information Technology, Bio-technology & Tourism Minister Priyank Kharge has asserted that if the party high command sought his resignation, he would sign off from the ministership.
Speaking to reporters after the Karnataka development programme review meeting here on Thursday, he said that it would be loss for the party even if a party worker leaves the party. The Congress had given power and responsibilities to veteran leader S M Krishna. If he had informed the party high command that he was still expecting power and position, the party might have considered it. But all of a sudden tendering resignation for the party membership was not a right move, he said.
“When senior leader H Mahadevaprasad resigned from the party, the blame was put on me unnecessarily. I have not snatched power from him. He too may have snatched power from another leader when he was young. It is a process but resigning from the party membership is not a suitable decision,” the minister said.
