House arson accussed escapes from police in Hyderabad,

 Gulbarga: A man accused of setting fire to a relative’s house, escaped from the hands of Gulbarga police personnel, who had gone to arrest him in Hyderabad on Monday. A case in this regard is yet to be registered at Afzal Ganj Police Station in Hyderabad.

The accused is Mustafa Mohammed Salim, who had set fire to the house of his brother-in-law Sayyed Akbar at Hussain Garden in the wee hours of June 4. Speaking to DH on Tuesday, a senior police officer said that acting on a tip-off, a police team comprising an Inspector, a PSI and six head constables had left for Hyderabad to nab Mustafa.

“When the members tried to nab Mustafa, he pushed them and ran away from the spot.” Police suspect that Mustafa is on his way to Ajmer in Rajasthan via Nizamabad and Mumbai. Sources said that police had intensified the search and would soon nab Mustafa.

 Background

Mustafa, a thief and a drug addict, had forcefully married Hina Kouser Begum, sister of Akbar. However, Hina had left her husband and Mustafa was harassing her to return.

Akbar, (42) had supported his sister and asked Mustafa not to trouble her. An enraged Mustafa then set fire to Akbar’s house. Akbar along with his wife Shanaz (35) and two children  Yaseen (17) and Saniya (16) had suffered severe burn injuries.

The couple along with their daughter succumbed to injuries a few days ago. Yaseen, however, is under treatment in Solapur, he added.
