Gear-up for the next assembly election by addressing public issues – A Sayeed at Mysore

Mysore : The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Karnataka Unit organized Cadre Convention of Narsimharaja Assembly Constituency at Shabnam Function Hall Mysore. Party’s National President A Sayeed was the program’s chief guest. Addressing the party cadres, A Sayeed said, contesting in Narsimharaja was our first election, though the people voted our party with their trust which made us stand in the second position in the fray. People had entrusted their faith in Abdul Majeed as an alternative leader. A Sayeed indicated the party cadres in the convention that the previous election result of Narsimharaja Constituency and that this result has proved to be positive for our political struggle. A Sayeed expressed happiness over SDPI leaders and cadres’ on-ground presence in the constituency and looking after the very issues touching people. He further said, in order to provide the people an alternative to the prevailing corrupt governance, SDPI should continue making its best efforts in addressing people’s problems.

While addressing the gathering, Party’s candidate for Narsimharaja Constituency and State General Secretary Abdul Majeed K, talked about the Nalvadi Krishnaraja Odeyar’s 133th birth anniversary. Majeed said, Nalvadi Krishnaraja Odeyar was the founder of new Karnataka. It was the late Krishnaraja’s era that the concept of Social Justice was very much talked about. Majeed praising Nalvadi Krishnaraja Odeyar said, “it was Krishnaraja who, in 1921 had announced a grand 75% reservation for Dalits, Minorities and backward classes and that the late leader recommended Social and Economical Miller Commission. He further said Nalvadi Krishnaraja Odeyar is an ideal and mirror for today’s politicians.

The important dignitaries who participated in the event were, SDPI national general secretary Elyas Thumbe, State President Abdul Hannan, Vice President Devanooru Puttananjaiah, state general secretary Abdul Lateef K, Secretary Afsar Kodlipet and others.
