Yadgir||DHNS: The whole life history of architect of Constitution of India B R Ambedkar was presented through a dance opera with sound and colourful lights at Government Pre-University College premises here recently.
The Bharatha Bhagya Vidhata, a sound and light programme organised as part of the Ambedkar birth anniversary celebrations by Information & Public Relations Department regaled the crowd gathered at the government college ground.
More than 80 artistes portrayed how Dr Ambedkar bore the brunt of humiliations, inhuman treatments, social evils and backwardness but came out of all such hindering factors and grew as an iconic leader of the society.
Women education, equal rights to women, equal share of property to women, maternity leave, special laws to protect women, eight-hour working policy, banning of feticide, eradicating the untouchability and others which were the great contributions to the developing society were picturised in the sound and light programme.
The images shown with the help of lights along with the sounds and recreation of the incidents and situations on the stage through dance opera gave a new dimension to the programme.
Folk songs and dances during the programme added more sheen to the show.
MLA A B Malakaraddy inaugurated the programme. City Municipal Council president Shashidhar Reddy Hosalli, vice-president Samson Mylikeri, member Mareppa Chattarkar, additional deputy commissioner B C Satish, and others were present.
